Most car crashes occur from the vehicle being struck from behind or head-on. The side impact crash is not the most frequent, but seems to cause the most fatalities in children. There are presently no safety standards set by the government for car seats and the side impact car crash, but such standards are being developed.
Some manufacturers of baby and kids car seats have researched and provided their version of the side impact protection in car seats. This is another standard parents should examine in their purchase of a car seat for their child.
Some babies are constantly harrassed with stomach pains, colic and acid reflux, while parents struggle to comfort and sooth the child in distress. Following are some suggestions that seem to help.
1. Holding your child at least three hours a day.
2. Responding to the baby as soon as possible.
3. Avoid smoking in the home.
4. Avoid milk products. Some babies are lactose intolerant and switching the formula can help. Mothers who are breastfeeding may try to avoid milk products. Another suggestion is to feed the baby more often and in less quantity.
5. Changing the babies environment. A baby hammock can help to sooth and comfort baby.
Remember that this too will pass. The baby’s digestive system will mature. You may have to give up some things for a while, but it is worth it. Any changes to baby’s diet should be discussed with your physician.
New parents could be forgiven for being a bit paranoid and antsy about putting their babies to bed for the night. Selecting a crib based on its durable construction and safe surfaces can provide some peace of mind, but tragic events can still occur. Sudden infant death syndrome is rare, but its notoriety makes parents wary nonetheless. In order to reduce the likelihood of SIDS, it’s crucial to put the baby to bed on his back until he’s at least 6 months old.
If you still don’t feel entirely comfortable about your young child’s safety, you can install a baby video monitor in close proximity to the crib. Audio components keep you apprised of any crying fits that might occur. The camera’s images will keep you informed of anything out of the ordinary. Before long, you’ll settle into a routine of putting the child to bed and trusting that he’ll sleep safe and sound.
It always gave me such a wonderful feeling when I designed the nursery for my new baby. There is a decision as to whether you want it to be a long term plan or if you plan to redecorate when the child becomes older.
The design will require you to decide on the following:
1. Furniture (be sure to plan for safety, rather than looks)
2. Wall Borders
3. Paint colors
4. Lighting
Whatever you choose, I am sure it will be wonderful. If you do not decorate at all, the baby will still be wonderful.
Bamboo is being used to create a fabric which is very soft and can be worn directly against the skin. Bamboo naturally has antibacterial, antifungal qualities. These qualities last through many washings. The fabric made of bamboo fights the odor causing bacteria that lives in the human skin.
Both infant boy clothing and infant girl clothing are also made of the bamboo fabric. If the child has an allergic reaction to some fibers, they should be able to wear the bamboo fabric in comfort. The fibers of bamboo are naturally round and smooth and do not have the spurs you will find in some fabrics. There is a thermal quality to bamboo which makes it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Bamboo is quick growing and thrives without insecticides and pesticides which makes it better for the environment.
