How About Convertible Car Seats
What is a convertible car seat? It wasn’t long ago that I was asking myself that question. Well, now I know. It is a child’s car seat that can be used for both a rear facing and a front facing car seat. Rear facing car seats are used for infants and small babies up to, in some models, as much as 35 pounds. After that, it is time to change to a front facing seat for your growing child. With the convertible car seat, you do not have to make a new purchase. You already have a car seat that can be used for the front facing child.
Some convertible car seats are outfitted for a baby as little as five pounds. It is not necessary to use an infant carrier in these car seats. That is a matter of your choice whether you want to use an infant carrier, or start them right off with a convertible car seat.
